That all depends if God is real or not. As an athiest, I believe there is no God and trust in the Big Bang Theory, I think that you can't determine a distance because he - in my opinion - doesn't exist.

all this depends on wether there is a good and no one can be 100% sure there is a god or not.

This depends if God is real. Personally I believe in the Big Bang theory and that God is not real. So the answer could be from the smallest measurement to the highest measurement. Though Religions do believe that God or Gods are all around us so, if I would pick, I would choose the former.

The question does not refer to distance but in fact time, the only way to reach god (in the eyes of christians) is at the time of passing (death) this theory cannot be proved because once you are dead, you are DEAD.

Not just Christians, most Religions believe their followers would meet their maker when they die. Also God is thought to be everywhere, all the time.

I believe that a distance cannot be determined as God (if there is one) is not in one specific place, he is all around.

It all depends on what you belive. Personally I don't think that the distance can be determind. Christian's believe God is all around us and therefore the distance can't be determined.

The answer to this question is not certain. God is the one who resides in us at all times .There is no distance that can be measured in actual. He is nothing but a driving force that many a man believes in.He is the one who we fear and respect the most.Being a strong believer of the almighty,i feel that the more good you do ,the closer you will feel to him.

This question I will answer in two parts. The first as a believer in God, and the second as an atheist or a non-believer.

1. This first part, I will act as if I am a believer. The above asked question is a very frequent question which will strike my mind. It is a doubt for me. For some people, God lives in their very soul till death, for some He is in the infants and children but is lost as they get corrupted by the ways of the world, and for some it is a super natural force, which is not residing in anybody but in the nature and the environment around us. But I said earlier it is a question which surpasses every known fact by a human and still remains to be answered. For me, if I was an believer I would have sided with the last opinion, that God resides in the thing around us and not in us.
2. For the second part, I will answer like an atheist. For my kind of people the above asked question is absolutely absurd. We don’t believe in any power higher than the human brain. For us, it is very difficult to scientifically or logically analyze this question as it is a matter of faith, with which we have not being gifted with, and thus we will always remain second in the race to find an answer to this billion dollar question.

For myself, I am an atheist; I do not believe in God any more than I believe in Peter Pan and Never land. I believe that my mind is of type more bend on scientifically analyzing things and not taking them as a matter of faith or for granted. And as yet I‘ve not managed to explain the presence of God, let alone the distance from Him, I belong to the second group.

For my answer I would quote Robert Langdon from the movie “Angels and Demons”, who upon being asked that whether he believed in God…

“I am an academic. My mind tells me I will never understand God. And my heart that I am not meant to.”

I believe we are as far from God as we want to be. God is not a physical character, resting in the heavens keeping an eye out for us. He is all around us. And whether or not we are in touch with him,is completely our choice. But then again, that's just my opinion.

The answer majorly depends on whether we believe God exists or not. Atheists, for whom God is nothing but the result of man's wild imagination there is no distance between them and Him, for there cannot be distance between us and something that does not exist at all.
But as for those who do believe and have a little faith, God is not very far from us. The Lord is not a physical being, he resides inside us, inside every particle. I believe that we can be close or far from Him according to our own will.
Our Karma, our deeds shape us into individuals, if our karma is good, we are not far from Him at all. In fact, we are exactly where we need to be. As far as I am concerned, God lives inside me, and I am not far from him at all.

this question can be answered from two points of view -
1) from the view of a believer
for someone who believes in god , god is where the person wants him to be. he may live in temples, churches , mosques or even in the persons heart.some people believe that god is everywhere around us.
hence, it cannot be said where god is. everyone sees god to be someone or something else.
2)from the view of an atheist
an atheist is someone who believes that god does not exist, he or she cannot simply be convinced without substantial proof that there is an all seeing entity who controls the world.for them science is reality and only science provides proof of the existence of any thing.

As someone who does not believe in god, i think that god or faith is something which human beings assume or follow to give a direction to their lives, someone or something to believe in when we go through bad times or feel depressed.
therefore,
god is as far of us as we want him to be.

we must realise that god isnt a "thing" or a "human figure" he is more of a supernatural force(is how i see it) and i think he is in everyone of us and we attain god when we are fully content and when we start living for the humanity (virtue) and not selfish purposes....god just wants us to live happily and live with togetherness rather than hate and differentiation! as soon as we realise that we will attain god in the sense that we will become wise and live for the betterment of humanity

Gods exist for him who believe in him and resides only within them. Hence, if god does exists then he resided no where but within the individuals who have faith in him.... And if there is no faith, there is surely no god! In the end I would like to simply sum up by saying that, the distance from god entirely depends on whether we believe in him or not... If we do there is simply no distance but if we don't then......

Contrary to popular belief, there is absolutely no need to perform any rituals or follow superstition to get closer to God.God resides within all of us,he is omnipresent. The only thing left for us to do is to find Him in ourselves, awaken Him,and work with an unwavering faith in humanity.Work, to bring our fellow humans out of their suffering, and it is then, and only then, that we will attain peace, harmony and happiness in the true sense of the word, and will have found God.

To answer this question we must understand what exactly is god?
For people, who have undying faith in him, he is a life giving force responsible for all the creation and the destruction in this universe. Some might also regard him as a decider of fate and some might be so afraid of his anger that they live thier lives without commiting a sin just because of this fear but all together these are the results of the blind faith that the pepople have in god.

Though, for some people that are believing in reasoning and rationalising than religion, god might me just a peice of stone through which they can actually study the people living in an area and how our minds develop around this faith.Though they are correct that god does not exist because according to them if something exists there has to be proof and there is no proof available that somebody like valmiki existed let alone ramayan then.

If we look at it from a perspective of a person believing in god, then we can not reach god for the simple reason that since people have started believing in god, it has been regarded that god is far more superior than us mentally and physically.

But as some people belive that god resides in all of us then there isnt any distance between us and god.

But if we take another perspective that does the question asked refers to people following the ideals or the objectives of god set in the mythologies or us bieng emotionally attached to the idea of god and actually believing that he can solve all our problems?

But then somep people because of thier actions are supposed to be considered god then.

This again is how we interpret the question.I personally dont believe in god and believe that science and our mind that offer us a reason for everything in nature. the creation of life to its destruction, everything. I believe that our own actions and presence of mind lead to destination and not a sculpture of a supernatural power.

I believe that god is not a human figure or some sort of supernatural force but the ultimate truth in this world and the answer to all our questions… I have a lot of faith in him and truly believe that he resides in all of us all the time and is never away from us… in fact god is the silent partner in all our enterprises and is never more away from us than a prayer and that prayer is not supposed to be a wish list that you are trying to send to god but the love and faith that you have inside you for him and that’s when you will realise that he is not at all far from you but, inside you and guiding you always…

god is not an object to be sought he is the personification of enlightenment itself. To seek god is like to find a needle in a box of hay. God must be worshiped and those who want to seek him have to look into he temple of the living soul....... into himself/herself. God is a belief and a way through which people correct the wrong, devote their time into mastering self satisfaction and peace. science may find the belief of life and god to be 'false' and 'misleading' but those who know reality know how close we are to god. he resides in our heart. he is like a tour guide guiding us all the time. those who say god is far in heaven don't know the power with him. the world is so beautiful at his will. he will never ground us even if our friends do. he will never mislead us for the god is us ourselves.

I strongly believe that the distance from God depends on the state of our mind. If one is happy and peacefull at the heart and the mind, he is closest to God; as God resides within oneself. On the other hand if one is full of guilt and sorrow, he is actually punishing himself by forcing himself away from God.
I would like to end this with the wise words of John Henry Newman: "I sought to hear the voice of God and climbed the topmost steeple, but God declared:"Go down again-I dwell among the people."

As a being on this Earth, I can tell the existence of God although I cannot see God.
God has created all things on Earth, including the air, stones, plants, soil, water, light, animals, and human beings. This means that we are living within God’s miracle. God has created all things but we never see God with our own eyes. Therefore, people lose the ability to believe in God.
However, God has used various methods of attunement to guide human beings who are deceived by the filth in the secular world. For example, people will gain good rewards if they do good deeds, while they will face tribulations if they do bad things. This is the heavenly rule that God uses to teach human beings to be kind and have righteous thoughts and good behavior. People should not do bad things.
I believe God is all around us looking after all of us

I am not a religious person, so for me it is very difficult to answer this question. If somebody was religious then I think finding out more about their world and how it was created may make them feel closer to God. In my opinion, at the moment we only have a tiny piece of the whole picture that will enable us to understand how the universe was created. We have discovered the Higgs Boson particle, which is of course a big step, but we are still very far from discovering concrete evidence to finally conclude how we got here. Despite this, the knowledge we have is constantly progressing, developing and enlarging, In my opinion, we will continue to build up the picture of how our world began as time passes. Perhaps we will never know everything, but we may be able to find out enough to satisfy our constant thirst for knowledge.
